Selena Gomez has found a way to handle the public and private aspects of her love life with Benny Blanco. In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter about her new movie Emilia Pérez, the actress opened up about why she feels comfortable sharing glimpses of her relationship, despite her preference for privacy.
“I think this is the safest I’ve ever felt in a relationship, and I see a future with this person,” Gomez shared. “When you let out a little bit, people don’t feel as compelled to dig for more. If they hear something, they’ll still go after it, but when you’re open about it, they’ll think, ‘Oh, there they are at Sushi Park.’ There’s so much of my relationship that’s just for me.”
Referring to a previous question about paparazzi photos of her and Blanco at the sushi restaurant, Gomez laughed and clarified, “I really love that restaurant! But, if you notice, I’m like [mimes covering her face with a scarf]. I try not to give them any good shots, but sometimes, it’s just part of the job.”
Since the couple began dating in late 2023, Gomez has posted behind-the-scenes moments of their relationship, which she confirmed was a conscious choice. And honestly, we can’t help but enjoy getting a look into their connection.
Previously, Gomez was romantically linked to musicians like Justin Bieber and The Weeknd and briefly to Zayn Malik and Drew Taggart from The Chainsmokers before she began dating the music producer.
